Juno's Spinner (Dodecahedron Model) - Science toy

Juno's Spinner (Dodecahedron Model) - Science toy

Invented in 1998, Juno's spinner is a unique polyhedral model that links and transforms. With a simple twist, straight edges meld into spherical symmetry. Junichi Yananose has carefully bound each model by hand using custom designed polypropylene figures and brass eyelets.

Operating Juno's spinner

Expanding the model

Twist opposite faces of the model and it will expand from a dodecahedron into a large ball. Throw Juno's spinner into the air and it will expand like a beach ball, only to collapse again upon landing.

Collapsing the model

Grab opposing faces and twist in opposite directions. As you continue to rotate the faces, the spinner will expand and collapse, cycling through all five combinations of colors.
