Great Grate Puzzle

Great Grate Puzzle

You have to make a great effort to solve this grate shaped puzzle. It requires 32 moves to take the first piece apart from the assembled shape.

While Juno had been producing Tangled Clip Burr, he knew that many of the laminated plywood pieces are too short to produce sets of the twelve puzzle pieces. Rather than producing more Tangled Clip Burr an inefficient way, he decided to design another puzzle that can be made from the shorter offcuts of the plywood. He didn't want to copy the assembled shape of the puzzle that someone had already tried. So, he looked through the list by shape section of the famous puzzle source website Puzzle will be played and chose the shape that didn't appear on the page.

This kind of puzzle tends to have shortcut solutions rotating one, two or three of the six puzzle pieces. Juno found a combination of the six pieces that requires 41 moves to remove the first piece, but it was just shy of a 5 moves shortcut solution. Of course, he didn't use the 41 moves combination and selected the one that seemed not to have shortcut solutions to take the first piece apart.

There are only 32 possible assemblies for the puzzle and only one among them can be assembled. Very serious high-level burr puzzle lovers might be able to solve the puzzle without a computer's aid, it is quite difficult though.

The puzzle is sold assembled. The solution to this puzzle will be supplied upon request by Burr Tools file format.
