This is a puzzle where you use nine pieces to form a cube. As the name Con Way Puzzle suggests, it is based on the same concept as a certain well-known puzzle, but with a twist: the pieces are cut into strangely con way shapes, which makes the challenge even more unusual.

After creating a prototype of this puzzle with a 3D printer, Juno initially thought it might be too easy and not worth producing as a commercial product. However, after letting a few people play with the prototype and observing their reactions, he changed his mind.

It seems that experienced puzzle enthusiasts with good intuition may quickly figure out what kind of approach to take just by looking at the puzzle, and solve it in a relatively short time. Others, however, might find themselves struggling with the puzzle for a long time, despite its deceptively simple appearance.

The manufacturing of the puzzle was tricky, and accurately cutting the pieces in the correct con way orientation was a challenge. By using a 3D-printed jig and a table saw fitted with a 12-inch circular saw blade, we were able to complete the processing within a practical amount of time.

Because the puzzle pieces have relatively large surfaces, New Guinea Walnut was chosen to showcase its distinctive grain patterns. Both the visible and hidden surfaces of the assembled cube are finished smoothly. As a result, the stacked pieces tend to slide easily, so a stand made from American Cherry was provided to support the completed cube stably. The stand itself features a puzzle-like element - it is assembled from three identical pieces joined together using a coordinate motion.

The solution to this puzzle will be supplied upon request.
