Stretchy 12

Stretchy 12

This diabolical puzzle requires 15 moves to remove the first piece from the assembled shape and another 19 moves to remove the second piece. The puzzle has a unique solution but has 8418 assemblies, meaning in short, it is beyond humans' abilities. Disassembling the puzzle is a big challenge since there are chances of false movements and we don't expect you to reassemble the puzzle without any clues or computer aids.

Juno just wanted to produce a burr puzzle which consists of 2 x 2 and 3 x 1 profile pieces to make good use of our specially made plywood. His pursuit turns out to be an extremely difficult but gorgeous looking puzzle.

The puzzle and its pieces have 7-unit length. Just before the first piece and the second piece is removed from the assembled shape of the puzzle, it stretches to a 13-unit length. Every single piece moves during the assembling and disassembling process. It's quite a transformation of the shape.

One of the good features of the puzzle is it is easier to handle 12 pieces even if you only have two hands. Most of the movements follow the X or Y axis but very rarely the Z axis. Find a flat surface and choose a stable orientation of the puzzle and then, you can easily push and pull puzzle pieces.

It's a relatively big burr puzzle and a lot of material was used. We lost several pieces during the production and less than 20 survived, including the test version made of Bubinga instead of plywood.

The puzzle is sold assembled. The solution to this puzzle will be supplied upon request by Burr Tools file format.
